STAGPOOLE CASE-TWO WRITS.
EACH CLAIMING .21000. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Paimerstcn North. May 9. Two further writs in the Slagpoolc cases were served ■to-day by Mr. C. A. Loughiian on behalf of Thomas Stagpoolc. Messrs. Nash and Cooinbo have received, a writ for .£IOOO damages for publishing in the "Manawatu (Standard" a statement of the defence of Frederick Pirani, into which the paragraphs from tho Feilding "Star" (originally complained of) had been interpolated. In this statement of defence there was a denial that tho recently-formed company of Frederick Pirani and Co., Ltd.. were the proprietors of the Feiiding "Star" on March 18 when the paragraphs forming the subject of tho libel action were published. Messrs. Louglrnan and Jacobs, as solicitors for Mr. Stagpoole, have now sued Frederick Pirani and Co., Ltd., for .£IOOO damages in connection with a publication of the statement of defence in the Feiiding "Star" on a subsequent dale,
