HIS DAMAGED THROAT.
J. ROBIN SUES UNION COMPANY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, May 9. When the case of .T. Robin v. the Union Company was before the Arbitration Court the other day, the medical witnesses for the defence suggested that Itobin was not using his voice as fully as lie might. The claim was one for coin pen sal ion for an injury to the vocal chords sustained through an accident that happened while plaintiff was in the company's employ. An adjournment was granted in order to allow experts to examine Robin's throat at the Hospital. When tho Court met to-day, Mr. M'Veagh (for tho defence) said that an examination had taken place,, and, as far as ho was concerned, tho position was practically the same. He called Drs. J. H. Neill and T. It. Inglis, who still gave it as their opinion that Robin had not spoken as well as he might when ho was in the witness box.
Dr. Hamfard (counsel for plaintiff) called Dr. Somervillc, who said that he had examined Robin at the request of Dr. liemvick, and gave it as his opinion that the condition of the man's throat was consistent with the present huskiness of his voice. After hearing counsel, his Honour said that the Court would take time to consider its verdict.
