Although piny was a little scrappy lit times, the Same was strenuous and fast throughout, ami College were decidedly unlucky in not finding the net on mure than one occasion. Hie Karori forwards, however, showed plenty of pace, ami their fast following up might well be emulated by otiier teams.

Suoji after the "bully-oft" College ruMietl down to the circic, ami ill-luck alone prevented n score. J'iny soon shifted to College quarter*, L. Diivies giving the ball to leader, from whom it went to Davips, who made no mistake. I—o. Still the Week forwards pressed on; then the College forwards took a hand, the Strack brothers beingprominent in a warm scramble in the Karori circle, but no goal resulted. Immediately after Loader shot the- ball centre-wards, and a passing bout resulted in Mackillop registering Karon's second goal. Yet again the . Black forwards swept down, and Loader smartly whipped the- ball between the posts. Karori 3; Collego 0. The next good piece of play came from G. Strack, who managed by clever stick play to elude everybody but the goalkeeper, who nullified his work. Half time came with Karori 3 points to the good. , • On resuming the Biacks were at it once again, and in the College circle, but Loader failed to goal: Then the College had a turn, but by slipping at the critical moment a Collego forward lost a certain goal. UNITED-WELLINGTON. These two teams faced each other at Karon Park, and the result jast about indicates the state of the game, although Wellington were unlucky in not scoring oftener in the second half. An outstanding leature of the play was the inability of both sets of forwards to shoot goo l<. iimo after time they swept down into the scoring zone with fruitless effort-;. Why dou t forwards practice goal shooting'? Ino lirst spell was evenly contested. Tue {rail travelled about, but lo no purpose, ("'st Wellington would swarm down, and .M hldoivney would send them back. Then the lieds would take a hand, and put in plenty of hard work, but all to no purpose. And so the first spell was contested without score. The. second half opened with more determination, and at last Bovd scored for tnited with a iiard shot, this acted as a doso of physic to Wellington, and they nut more "ginger" into their play, but the defence of Thompson (C'nited's'lelt-hali) stopped their progress. Then Collins, the ifeds right-winger, followed up a Jon" hit, and Jlorneth bungling, enabled him to find the net the result of following up. Imited 2; Wellington 6.
