LOSS OF THE KOOMBANA.
CHIEF PILOT'S OPINION. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright, Perth, April 27. At the Koonibana inquiry, Iho chief pilot gave evidence that the Koombana was in splendid trim, the crew was efficient, and Captaiu Allen was a careful navigator, who "took no unnecessary risks. The acting-superintendent of the Adelaide Company gave tho Court a demonstration of the Koombiina's stability nnd trim indicator, with ,, "weights equivalent to the cargo the Koombana ifos carrying. These showed her stability was quite satisfactory. The Western Australian manager of tho company suggested that better facilities should be granted to enable captains to form weather forecasts.
