A rather amusing contretemps occurred at the conclusion of the meeting o£ householders in the Wellington South School last evening. Mr. 1). M'Laren (a Mayoral candidate) attended to address the meeting oiler the school committee business Ikhl been dispatched. As soon as tho personnel of tho new committee had bixj'ii declared ,tho chairman vacated his seat, and Mr. A. Withy, taking time by tlx forelock, proceeded to iiitroduco Mr, M'Laren. Ho had not gono far when an indignant householder got up and said "Ono moment, Mister! Wo haven't passcd a volo of thanks, to tho retiring com-
niitlcc vet. and tho chairman has left tin chair!"' Mr. Withy stood back with apologies, and tho resurrected meeting, informally, but heartily, passed votes of (hanks to the retiring committee mid to (ho school staff.
