THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE.
AN INTERVIEW,
(By Telosraph.—Press Association.) Christchurch, April 9. The Hon. J. A. Hanan, Minister for Justice, passed through Christchurch tonight. In an interview ho said he was going into the matter of the appointment of a Commissioner of. Polico and Undersecretary of Justice with the view of making" a recommendation to Cabinet. The matter would not be decided yet. Ho added that ho was not in favour of going outside the Dominion to get a Commissioner of Police. Ho snid it might be possible to call a conference of gaolers in Wellington to discuss with them matters of detail in connection with prison management. He was also going ,into matters connected with the administration of the police force. He afterwards intended going into matters connected .ivith the education system with a view pf improving it.
