ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
OLD MAN'S DEATH. Willinrn Maher, an elderly man, died at the public hospital yesterday aB a result of an accident sustained on Decernber 30. On that date Mahcr, who was feeble, fell down a small flight of steps, and afterwards complained of pain in the bai &-, .H ® remained in the institution until his death. An inquest will be held this morning. CHILD BADLY SCALDED. Emily Jcffcry, a child of 19 months, was admitted to the hospital yesterday suffering from scalds on her chest and arms. The injuries are serious. Tlio child's parents live at 8 Horner Street, and Mr. Jcffcry is an accountant. It is understood that the little one was playing near the stove when a pot of boiling water was upset, with the result stated.
