MORMON CONFERENCE.
AND THE PRESBYTERIAN PROTEST. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Palmerston North, Anril 8. In connection with tho Presbyterian. Assembly's protest against the Hon. To Rangihiroa and Dr. Pomarc, M.P., giving political addresses at tho Mormon Conference, tho Row Mr. Budd, of Feilding, replying to Mr. Romney of tho Mormons, says: "Tho deliverance of political addresses by such prominent public men is likely to alTcct the attendance materially, and to bring under the influence of tho Mormon teachers many who would otherwise not bo there, anil is not tho function of a Minister of the Crowai to act as bellman for any religious gathering. Against that we respectfully made our protest."
