Court staff, has been promoted clerk of the court at Collingwood, and leaves to take up his new dntics immediately. , As the result of tho poll of the rateSayers on Wednesday, the area of tho orough of Wanganui East has been reduced by nearly half. Tho area in question included a considerable extent of farming country, held in moderately small areas, with only 03 ratepayers living on it. Forty-two of these voted on the proposal, .10 being in favour of severance iron) Hie borough, and 0 against. The area cut off now reverts to the Wanganui County.
