Wn.\T THE Ii.VILWAY PAYS. Replying to a letter pent by the Wellington Provincial Executive of the Farmers' Union complaining of serious inconvenience to stock-owners through no advice, being given as to tile arrival of stock wagons, the General .Manager of i'aihvays has written as follows: — "With reference to your letter of March II in regard to tho inconvenience alleged to have been caused to owners of stock through (heir not being advised as to tho oxiict time at which stock wagons can bn supplied, I liavo to inform you that as far as practicable the Departmeiit advises consignors when their wagons will be supplied, but in the busy season it. is not possible to stntc definitely when the empties will be available. So far as the present season is concerned the Department has experienced no difficulty in supplying wagons for stock traffic,'and you may rely on every effortbeing made to meet the requirements of consignors."
