SILVERTON FATTENING FARM.

Unusual interest centres just now in the sale of tlio Silverton fattening Farm, Slanway, near IVilding, which is to lie hclil in the Foilding Skating I'ink, next Saturday afternoon, by Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., in conjunction with lles=rs. AY. 11. Lambert and Co. Plans of the subdivision of the estate, which are now in circulation, show that the estate comprises 1120 acres, Fubclividccl into ten sections, ranging in area from about 71 acres to 180 acres. The present and past seasons have given ample- proof of what the I'eilding and surrounding farm lands are capable of in the way of cropping, dairying and cropping, and tho property, which is being subdivided, is said to comprise some of tho finest land in tho district. The property, which is best' known as Cornl'oot's Fattening Farm, has been in the possession of anil farmed by Mr. Henry Covnfoot's family for many.years past. It is situated on both sides of the main North Ifoad, and is oM mile from the nearest railway station. Tho whole of the property is rich, pkughable land, and two-thirds of it has already been turned over and laid down with the be.=t English grasses. The greater proportion of Hie laud has been heavy bush country, but it is now highly improved, and carries a line solo of grass throughout. In addition to boing naturally watered by the Ifangitawa Strram anil by springs, the supply is further augmented by means of numerous dams. Excellent" -water is obtainable all over tli-3 estntf aj: a very moderate deplh. jioing .'ill Hat, or very slightly undulating, the land is well adapted for cropping, dairying, and fattening. Some excellent crop's of rye, oats, and turnips have bfi'ti taken off the estate, ami from one 810nere section, given over to dairying, flic January cheque is stated to hive been ,£lllO. The homestead section, which comprises about ISO acre-, is highly improve;!, and contains, in addition to the fine residence, office.-, outbuildings, dip, etc., an orchard in full bearing. Section 111, containing lIS acres, holds a -t-roomed cottage, ivashlionse, shed, and barn; and on Section -1 (111 acres) there is a large up-to-date wuoUhed. Tho sections are all either wholly or partly fenced, and contain small patches of bush, which afford excellent shelter for stock. The terms of wile are:—ls per cent, on the fall of' th? hammer, 10 f*r cent, on March 23, 1!)K), and the balance in five years at S p?r cent.
