While Mr. J. Wood was blowing up stumps on Thursday, his little son, three years old, received a blow on the 6ide of his head, rendering him unconscious. Dr. Gunn was called-in and attended the little sufferer, who is now ' progressing favourably. The looal Gloe Cltlb has just held its annual meeting, and tho report disclosed e satisfactory year. Officers for the ensuing year were elected. The formal opening of the Greytown Coronation Baths took place yesterday before a largo number of people. Tho Mayor, Mr. D. P. Loasby, periormed tho function by requesting Miss Bell (of Wellington) and Master Paison to plunge into tho baths. The cost of the baths so far is .£589 7s. 6d. A number of matches were then got off, but the restricted area prevented.fast times being recorded. Mr. Maxton has received a telegram from Mr. W. H. Field saying his father has just died, and that he must postpone his trip across from Otaki ■to Greytown for a week. Mr. Maxton has arranged to go up the mountains next Sunday (Marob. 10) to meet Mr. Field, as requested.
