CARTERTON

On Friday Mr. W. C. Dorset, of Parkvale, Carterton,-received a breeding pen of White Leghorns from Mr. W. D. Padman, of Adelaide, Australia. The birds were landed in good condition. The lfii acre crop of Tuscan wheat, of Mr. W. Howard Booth, of Carterton, has yielded 975 bushels of grain, and 3? tons lOJcwt. of straw, equal to 59 bushels of wheat and 2 ton 55cwt. of straw to tho acre. The grain is full-bodied. On "Saturday week tho Masterton Tennis Club will pay a Tcturn visit to the Tarorua Club, provided that the Country Cup match with Maryborough is not to be played on that day.
