INDIAN M'JTINY, VETERAN. // Teleirrftph—Press Association—Oopyrlshl '..'.. (Rec. February 27,10.15 p.m.) / London, February 27 Tho death is announced of General Sir Alexander Taylor, K.C.8., at the age of 86. He was tho last 6iimvor of the assault of Delhi in the Indian Mutiny.
. TKe late General Sir Alexander Taylor entered the Royal Engineers in 18-13 and caw much active service in his early life. He ".took part in the Sutlcj campaign (1845-0), and two years later he was wounded in the fighting in the Punjab. In'tho Indian Mutiny (1857-8) lie. was again wounded, and was twice mentioned in dispatches. Later he was engaged in the Urabeyla campaign. He was made a General in 1878, and after his retirement became president of the Royal Indian Engineering College, •'
