CARTERTON.
A dance in aid of the funds of the Carterton l-'ire Brisade was hold in tho brigade's social hall on Thursday evenin?, and was well attended. Mr. F. Warm was musician, and Messrs. H. M|Kenzi? and J. M'Giiinnrss, M.C.'s. Miss Gnskin played an "extra," and Miss Millie Croxen contributed a song. A programme of music is to be played at the Coronation Band Rotunda *on Sunday afternoon by the Carterton Brass Baild. Mr. T. W. Sparks, of Wairoa, was among the' visitors to Carterton on Friday. The summer show of the Wairarapa Horticultural and Industrial Society has been fixed for Saturday, March 2. Tho tennis match, Mastsrton v. TaraTUa Club, to have been played at Carterton on Saturday, has been postponed, ns the Masterton Club have a prior engagement at Pahiatua.
