In regard to the recent Civil Service; examinations, the director's report stated that, out of the IG4 Wellington students who had onter'ed, 70 (or'42{ per cent.) were students of the Wellington Technical School.' In some instances the entries had I>een very small, this being owing to the fact that tho examinations were held in the middle of tho Fchool rear. Many of these students came from the country, and probably over one-third of tho children who hod gained proficiency certificates attend either the day or evening elnsses of the school. At present tho total entries of tho free place students this year is 333 juniors and 153 seniors, and a large number haw still to come in. To date some 325 paving students hsd paid fees.
