The battleship Maine, whose destruction in Havana harbour in 18M8 caused the Spanish-American war, is to receive, burial at sea, with full navnl honours. The wreck litis just Wn raised from tho bottom of Havana hrirlxiiir by the American Government, and preparations are being made to tow the hulk cut .to the depths of the Atlantic and sink. it. Inhibitors have offered the Government largo sums for the 'purchase- of the ship. President TiU't has decided, however, that tho battleship shall not be subjected to anv indignities, and shall afford profit to no'showman. The latitude and longitude of her burial place in the Atlantic will-lie preserved as the place of her grave, and except for a few mementoes of the vessel, nothing else will remain of her. Tho mainmast is to be.erected in (lie Arlington National Cemeterv at Washington, where the Imdies of the dead recovered from the wreck are to bo buried.
