INSURANCE PICNIC.
The twelfth annual picnic of the Fire, Marine, and Insurance Associations was held at Day's Hay yesterday. Despite the inclemency of the weather there were 200 guests present. The committee were: Messrs. Halharry (chairman!, Archer, Gray, Hollis, Hood, Simson, Vance, Mesney, and Stevenson (hon. secretary). The results of the sports that were held are as follow:—Electric Light Handicap, 100 yards—Walter, 1; Johnson. 2. Contiguity Thrce-Legged Race, iflO yardsJones and Walter,' ]; Craig and Collins 2. Reinsurance Relay Handicap, 100 yardsCollins, Muller, Craig, 1. Mixed Construe, tion Race, for Indies, SO vanls—Misa Cray. 1; Miss Blair. 2. All Risks SackHaw. 50 yards—Midlnne, 1; Collins, 2. Tariff Breakers' Wheelbarrow RaceDavis and Alters. I; Craig and Short, 2. Messrs. A. Blair, D. Cook, and A. Pctireo acted as judges. Dancing and progressive euchre were »lso a feature of the picnic. The eiichro prize was won by Simpson and Stevenson. Music was supplied by the Vitetta Orchestra. The prizes were presented by Mr. Blair on the journey over, thus concluding an enjoyable outing.
