PANAMA CANAL.
GREAT FORTRESS TO BE BUILT. Br Teleeraph-Presa Association-Copyright (Rec. February 11, 5.5 p.m.) Washington, February 10. Work will bo begun immediately on a great fortress which is intended to guard tho Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. The fortress will bo situated on Flamenco Island, directly fronting the Canal entrance. A fourtcen-incb gun will be mounted on Fort Francos.
