The council chamber, placed in Iho centre, will' be 50ft. long, by 33ft., and will l>o finished olf in digniiied ntylo, cmbracing all tho best traditions of Maori art in carving, in a manner so as to bo representative of the different tribes. The Maori style of decorative art has b;en incorporated in tho general design. Tho building will bo of wood, fos(in» on a brick foundation. The estimated cost is JiTOOO.
