Captain Sharps, in speaking of the work to a reporter this morning, said that tho survey had to some extent been interfered with by tho boisterous weather met with off the New Zealand coast, the big seas making it impossible at times to take soundings. As the conditions became More, favourable, however, the operations Were carried out expeditiausly. The greatest, depth registered was 27(ifl fathoms, and the least SGO fathoms, the latter lieiiift at a point midway between tho Australian and Xew Zealand roost.
