The united mine workers of America, at a convention held at Indianapolis, favoured Government ownership of industries. The Socialists launched a resolution seeking the endorsement of their party as tho political party of the working classes. The opposition developed, and a stormy debate followed. The question was finally adjourned. Many speakers objected to pledging the mine-workers to any political party.
