TRAM STRIKE OR NOT?
CURRENT OPINION OF SOME. From inquiries made yesterday, it is clear that the tramway employees of the City Council remain unshaken in their determination to secure the transfer of Mr. Fuller to duties other than those of ticket-inspecting. By some of those who are best acquainted with the temper of the trainwaymen, it is asserted that tho taking of a "ballot 011 the question of strike or 110 strike (should the union bo unable to obtain what it desires by more peaceable measures) is a mere formality. According to these people, if the council elects to retain Inspector Fuller in his present position a strike will certainly follow. Meantime, however, there is a truce. It is exceedingly improbable that tho union will take any action until tho council has made somo definite move, and this it is unlikely to do before its meeting on January 25.
