(By Teleirianh, r Pi;bß3-A63p?(aHan.l. •; AstiburtonVi November 24;": Iho English correspondent of "The Guardian," who, saw Sir James Mills at Plymouth on October 18, on the occasion of the Tahiti's departure on her initial trip to New Zealand, states that it is understood that tho Union Steam Ship Company of Now.Zealand intends utilising the Panama Canal for a Ne«- ZealandLondon passenger route, and is getting ready accordingly. Tho San Francisco boats are likely to be utilised for the canal trade. July 13, 1913, is the date now named for the .completion of the great work, and the now route will bring New Zealand much nearer London—that is as an all-sea route-'-wiihout transhipment.
