TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
BOARD OF MANAGERS. The monthly meeting of tbo Wellington Technical School Board was held last evening, there being present: The Chairman (iMr. D. Robertson), and Messrs. J. (J. W. Aitken, G. Frost, and AV. Allan. Reporting on the syllabus of instruction for 1912, the director (Mr. \V. S. La Trobe) recommended two subjects—physiology and botany—should be added to the evening classes if sufficient students apply for enrolment. For those intending to jo in.for agricultural or pastoral pursuits ho proposed the following subjects as r-omurisiiu a, course for evening classes: Chemistry, Physiology, botany, veterinary science, wool-ciassiug, mechanics (practical and applied), iron work (including rough carpentry, plumbing, sanitary science). In most of these subjects ho pointed out the tuition would, be individual. Regarding the day school some minor alterations, in accordance with the policy of increasing tlio science work <!one, were suggested. The iron work for commercial'classes would bo omitted and chemistry and physics substituted. The science work for the mechanical, carpentry, and electrical sections would be increased, tlio amount, of time devoted to woodwork by the engineering boys would bo reduced, and the" iron work taken by the electrical division would be increased. The recommendations were adopted.
