Arrests of loyalists continue thronghout the countiy. Seventy armed men sacked St. Paul's Convent and Church, and destroyed precious relics. Sonhor Castro, Minister for War, has resigned as a result of the Government not taking a serious view of the Monarchist raid, and gradually reducing the Northern troops. Other Ministers resigned in a body as a protest, but the President (Senhor Arraiga) refused to accept their resignations and required Senhor Castro's individual resignation.
