Vincent, of tho Auckland Vet> eraus' Homo, and formerly of the Bengal Artillery, died on Monday from heart trouble at the age of 81i Deceased was born at Corl'o Castle, Dorsetshire, in. 1830. Ho enlisted at tho ago of 25 years, in tho East India Company's service, joinihg the Fourth Company in tka Fourth Battalion of Bengal Artillery. Deceased was at Mcomt when tho Mut> iny broke out, after tho Sepoys there had revolted, and made from' there for Delhi. He marched into Delhi with his battery, a distance of 31 miles, and was continuously fighting around and in Delhi until its capture. At the fall of Delhi he was moved to the Himalayas with n mountain battery manned by the Bengal Artillery'to crush out a . flickering insurrection amongst tho hill natives, and afterwards with Colonel Hayes's Column (associated with six other columns) marched into the lung.of Oude's territory to suppress tho fugitive insurgents that had assembled as refugees from the neighbouring provinces. After peace had been restored the Bengal military forces _ were disbanded, and Vincent took, his discharge, returning to England, where he joined the' Royal Artillery until tho completion of his service. Ho was awarded tie Mutiny medal, with the clasp of Delhi, and tho Imperial and old age pensions. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1859, living first at Charleston, on tho West Coast, where he remained at the gold diggings ,f0r.32 years, no entered, tho Veterans tloiuo ove* seven years ago,
