The following arrangements for sailings to Australia and New Zealand have been made:— Tho Flcamcr Buteshire, after 26 days' delay, is to sail on September 25 for the Queensland porta usually visited by steamers running in the Torres Straits mail service, and tho Perthshire, which follows under the same auspices, will sail on October 6—about six days late. The steamer Norfolk, originally set down to sail from London on September 4 for Australian ports, will now come from Liverpool ami West Coast of England ports, being set. down to leave Liverpool on September 27. Captain Gibbons of the Canopus, reports that on Thursday last, the tramp stcnuier Auchenblae was sheltering behind Long Island from tho southcrlj' gale. The Auchenblae left Newcastle on September 13 for Valparaiso with a full cargo of coal. Jtr. J. Dunlop, chief engineer of the Aparinia, came ashore at Duncdin, and Mr. T. Kogcrson has in consequence been promoted from' second engineer to chief. Mr. M'Caußhy is now second, and the remainder of the engineers havo each been promoted a step. Skogstad, 6.5. (now under charter to tho Union Company), will, after completing discharge of her cargo of coal at Dmicdin, return to Newcastle to be handed over to her owners. On Saturday morning Iho Anchor Lino's steamer Waimea arrived in port from Gisborno, having taken 913 hours on tho passage. For two days Captain Wiklman was compelled to anchor under Portland Island on account of the heavy southerly weather which prevailed on the coast during last week. Tho vessel left for Weftport at, 2.15 p.m. on .Saturday. , Captain Harris is in charge of the MoIsoia, which is relioviug the Tarawera on the East Coast run while tho latter vessel is undergoing overhaul at Port Chalmers. • Her other officers are:—Chief, J[r.
