The concluding day's rating in connection with tho Avondale Jockey Club's spring meeting was held this afternoon on tho club's course at Avondalc. Tho weather was fino but cold, and thcro was a good attendance. Tho sum of .£18,203 was put through, tho machine. Tho results j are :— ! Sib.; Mavournecn, Ost.; St. Wood, 9st.; Luxton, Bst.; l'resntly, 9st. They left the mark in even line, Don Quex being the first to make play. Going along the brick Don Quex still had charge, Miss Explosion being within a length of him, and then came Delegate, who did not seem to like his work. Crossing tho ton stretch Delegate' moved lip a little, and there was little between Don Quox, Miss Explosion, and him <is they turned for homo. Don Qnex, however, had a'nvnys a bit the best of it, and eventually won by a length from Hiss Explosion, with Delegate four lengths away third. Taiaha wag fourth, tho others being a long way back. Bluo Mount was, however, slew to move, and when, they settled down Turbine was in front. When in line for tho post Deeley rushed Lucille to the front, and tho daughter of Soult, stalling off challenges by Poictiers and Admiral Soult, won by a length and a halt' from Poictiers, who was a similar distance in front of Admiral Soult. All horses were in line when the tape lifted, but Kawcen was slow to jump out, and lost somo groand. Goldsize and Mnlwa were tho first to commence, and tho .pair showed the way out of the straight. Turning for home Malwa was in front, but at the distance Miss Winsome was. on terms, and the pair drew out. from tho field, Miss Winwme heating her stablo companion comfortably by a length and a halt. Kawcen, wlu finished fast, was four lengths away third, a neck in front of General Latour, and then came Cloudy Dawn, Hemisphere, njid Goldsize. Time, lmin. '12 l-Sisc. Miss Winsome was favourite. When thev left tho mark it was nn even start, Dido being the first, to find her feet, but sho was soon headed by Monoline, who showed the way across the top, followed by Monorail, Dido, and Blcriot, with the others strung out. Monolino still had charge when they turned for homo, and though Monorail put in a strong run down the straight he could not reach tho little filly, which won cleverly by two lengths and a half, giving Dceley his third successive win. Dido was three lengths further back third, and then came Prince Merriwee, and Lannacost. Time, 50 l-ssec. Monorail was favourite. PLUJIPTON HANDICAP, of 200 sovs. One mile. Mr. B. T. Hawkins's br. m. Master Wairiki put in a break crossing tho top stretch, and turned' for home, where tho field closed up. In the run for tho post Elcctralioff came through with a strong run, but though he finished gamely ho could not reach the leader, who won by two lengths and a half. Salute was a length further back third, and then came Sedition, Flying Soult, and Fuss, with Sea Elf last. Time, lmin. 42 2-ssec. Electrakoff was favourite. After the rnco J. Conquest, tho rider of Master Wairiki, was called before the stewards and fined £!> for disobedience at tho post, and also ordered to stand down for the rest of tho day for cutting in at the post. When (he barrier lifted Mauinina lost several lengths, Whararoa. being first on his feet and making the running along the back, followed by Haku, Sir Walter, and Hardrock. In (ho run to the post Monothol, on the inside, and ITaku, on the outside, both challenged, and an interesting final resulted in To Whararoa lasting long enough to win by a length and a quarter from Monothol, which beat Haku by three parts of a length for second honours. After a desperate race Lady Dot pot the verdict by a neck from Turbine, with Hotraiigatalii a similar distance, away third. Peggy Prydo was fourth, anil Cnikchu last.
