ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING. The first annual general meeting of the Wellington Zoological Society was held in the Newtown Library last night. The president, tho Kcv. J. Craves, was in tho chair. There was only a small attendance of members. .. Tho annual report and balance-sheet (already published) were adpotcd without discussion. Three new members wero elected. Tho election of officers resulted as follows:—.Patron, his Excellency tho Governor, Lord Islington; president', the Rev. J. Crewes fre-olectcd); vice-presidents, Messrs. B. H. Low and C. J. Lockwood; secretary, Mr. K. Brown; treasurer, Mr. J. Castle; auditor, Mr. R. H. Chinchon; council, Mrs. Winter, Messrs. G. Flux, IT. A. Parkinson, A. E. Itornblow, W. Janson, R. A. Wright. M.P., A. Hobday, ■jnn., R. Moorish, Allan Smith, and S. 11. Underwood. •

■ The president reported that he. with Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., had concluded arrangements with Messrs. Fuller and Sons for a moving picture entertainment in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall. The programme will include Zoological pictures, and films of tho Coronation of King George, who is himself an enthusiastic zoologist'. It was decided to hold the entertainment on a date to ho arranged later.
