. Mr. C. W. Tanner gave a political address at Morrison's Bush on AVednesday evening. A piece of land in Fcathcrston has been given by Mr. A. Matthews, of Wairongomoi, as a sito for tho Coronation Baths. It is understood that the work of construction will bo commenced shortly, and tho baths will bo availablo for the coming summer. A company has been formed to take over the control of tho Maori newspaper "Te. Mnreikura"—a monthly periodical published in Greytown. A. printing plant is being ordered from England, and it is probable that tho paper will presently liavo a weekly issue. Miss Anderson Hughes gave an address to women, on tho licensing question, on Friday afternoon. There was a good attendance. A number of women workers in the No-License movement accompanied Miss Hughes, who .has been addressing meetings throughout this electorate during the past few days. Tho concert held on Thursday evening in aid of the Catholic Presbytery Fund was largely attended. Those who contributed wereMesdames J. H. Fieldhouse, J. W. Card, Misses Baker, Brough, Card, M. Hughan (Carterton), Toojood, Wilkinson, Lyford, and Messrs. G. Fenw;ick, W. Tinnoy, .T, Clague, J. V. Wilson, G. Hyland, J. H. Carter (Grevto.wn), and. Dr. A. E. Palmer. Mr. M. Miller and Miss H. Card acted as joint secretaries. A dance followed the concert.
