DECREE SUPPLEMENTARY TO THE MOTU PROI'IUO. As a kind of supplement to tho. Mom Proprio of Pius X, and in rcspouso to questions from several Bishops. the following decree has been issued by tho Sacred Congregation of Rites relative to the days of prccopt:— I. The Feast of St. Joseph shall be held on March 19,'. not e.s a day of precept, • and without an octavo, under tho title: Solemn Commemoration of St. Josrph, Spouse of - the Blossed Virgin, Confessor. ; 11. The Feast of tho Patronago > of St. Joseph shall be hold on the third Sunday after Easter as'a double of tho First Class, with an octave and with tho quality of tho primary feast, under tho title: Solemnity of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed' Virgin; Patron of tho Universal Church. 111. On the d?.ys within tho octavo and on the octavo of the Solemnity of St. . Joseph tho Office shall bo recited as in tho Index.of tho Roman ottavario. IV. The Feast of the Most Holy Trinity fixed for. the first Sunday after Pentecost shall be celebrated as a double of the first.class. V. Tho Feast of Corpus Christi shall be celebrated not as a day of precept, but ns n d.'mblo of the first class, having a privileged octave, just as tho cc'.avo of the Epiphany, on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, under tha title: Solemn Commemoration o' thn Most Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ. 11. In cathedral aud collegiate churches on tho Sunday within tlio octavo of tho_ feast, after tho Office and its relative Mass have been said, a solemn Mass may be sun<» as on feast davs, with tho Gloria, ono Oratio, tho Sequenlia Credo, and Gospel of St. John at the end" Where there is no obligation for a community Mass tho commemoration of tho Sundav end the (icspol of St. John are to' be added. But on thjs Sunday the solemn procession of the Blessed Sacrament must be held, as prescribed in tho Coro-i-TTnVnn! rr Bisll0 P s - book i, chapter 32. VII. Ho Thursday after the octavo of the Feast of tho Most Sacred Heart of Jesus shall be held, as before, as a double of the first class. This decree holds good in the case o' religious communities and churches in which a rito other than the Roman is used.
