student. lie followed un his home studies by courses at Uoi-lin and Geneva, and on returning settled at Inverness, v;hero lie exercised a powerful ministry for a lons period. Dr. liobson was often selected for special work on the Continent, and his devolion to the missionary activities of the Church led to his appointment as editor of "The Missionary Record," a position in which ho was woll known and widely respected. In ISfiO he visited tho congregations in Jamaica as an evangelical deputy. JI is familiarity with German is attested by his editing and part translaJ.ilion of Corner's "History of Protestant Theology," and tho translation of Dr. Warneck's "History of Protestant Missions/' In 1902 ho was raided to tho Moderator's elrair of tho United Freo Church. His resignation of tho editorship of "Tho Missionary Record," anfiounced only a few months ago, was an indication of failing health.
