THE ENGLISH PRIMITIVE METHODIST PRESIDENT.
7ho Kev. E. Da Hon, President of the English Primitivo Methodist Clmreli, is conspicuous for his admiration of villago Methodism, and flic decision to devote most of his year of office to visiting rural churches has given great satisfaction to the denomiation of which lie is the he-ad. The feeling found enthusiastic expression when ho ministered at Sheriff Hutton, near lork, his native place. Tho liftlo church was crowded for the sermon in tho afternoon. In the evening the proceedings tool: place on the village "green in the presence of a large audience, when Mr. G. Loarman (Oxford), also a native of tho village, presided. In a forcible address of mingled humour and pathos, Mr. Dalton related some of his experiences since ha entered the ministry forty-six years ago. As a mark of esteem, and in recognition of his services to the Church, the "villago President" was presented with a purse of gold by friends of the circuit. Jiov. J. Reavley (superintendent), Rev, T. J. Gladwin, and other local ministers took part in the day's proceedings.
