YACHTING.

POET NICHOLSON. CLTTB. The twenty-eighth annual general meeting of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club was held at the Boat Harbour last evening. The commodore,' Mr. C. J. Ward, presided over an attendance of about fifty members. The annual report and balance-sheet (published on Tuesday) were read and adopted, as also were tho roports of the social and picnic committees. Fourteen new members were elected. Tho olection of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows:—Patron, His Excellency the Governor; commodore, Mr. C. J. Ward; vice-commodore, Mr. H. Chisholm; rear-commodore, Mr. 0. Freyberg; hon. secretary, Mr. Norman Gibbs.; lion, treasurer, Mr. Lancaster; committee, Messrs. W. 1). Bough, AV. Birnic, F. Kiornnn, W. Moore, E. Millman, and A. Duncan; starter, Mr. L. Sleightholin; handicappers, Messrs. W. Moore, F. Kiernan, and F. Moffatt; picnic committee, Messrs. V. Froyborg, F. C'ooke, E. Hough, and Alewis. The following racing committee was elected:—Messrs. C. J. Ward, H. Chisholm, 0. Freybqrg, N. Gibbs, W. Mcore, and ,C. Ward, junr., secretary. Mr. Chisholm moved that all races in tho future bo started on the Mark Toy system. Tho motion was carried. It was decided that there should be two classes only, and that the twenty minutes' limit be abolished. It was also decided to leave all future classification in the hands of the committee. In connection with Anniversary E«gatta Day, Mr. Duncan moved: "That no money bo paid out of the club funds for Regatta Day, and that only money raised for that day be paid for that occasion." Mr. W. Rough seconded the motion, w,hich was carried. The following Tegatta committeo was elected-.—Messrs. N. Gibb, W. Rough, 0. Froybeig, E. Rough, C. .T. Ward, — Taylor, H. Chisholm, B. Millman, — Lancaster, and F. Cooke.
