D. Banks won the Stroke Handicap with a net score .of 15S. ■ Fine weather prevailed again for the golf championship to-day. The principal event was tho first round of tho championship. J. Bowring, 100-(2J)-7G. They will play-o!r to-morrow morning in tho Bogey Match, tho best bogey card to win. M'Ewan play-off the final to-morrow afternoon for a subscribed purse of .£ls, the winner taking £10 and tho loser ,£5. LADIES AT WANGANUI. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wanganui, September 13. The Wanganui Ladies' Golf Club continued their championship meeting today. The championship resulted in Miss Gould boating Mrs. Wray by 2 up at the eighteenth hole. In tho bogey event MissiCavo and Mise Didsbury tied, Miss Cave winning. The approaching and putting was won by Miss Cave, and the driving competition by Miss Wray (157- yards). Mrs. Loinax won the continuous putting. ____i____
