ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
YOUTH SHOOTS HIMSELF. (By Telezraph.-Prcss Association.) Pahiatua, September 10. A youth of about seventeen, named Andrew Taylor, employed on a farm, shot himself at Kohinui. Ho was picked up on Saturday morning with severe injuries, and died shortly afterwards. It is thought that he shot himself the previous night. Tho suicide i 9 said to have been tho result of a lovo affair. KILLED BY A BULL. Dannevirke, September 3. An elderly man named Daniel Baine, gardener to Father Cahill, was found dead in a paddock this afternoon. The body was fearfully mangled, apparently by a bull which was in tho paddock. There was no witness'of the fatality. An inquest will ,bo held to-morrow. BODY FOUND IN THE RIVER. Christchurch, September 10. The body of Mrs. Charlotte Todd, who loft her son-in-law's residence in peculiar circumstances on the night of September 2, or tho morning' of September 3, was found in tho Heathcote River yesterday. ( In attempting to jump a gate at Karori on Saturday night, Leonard Standen, in tho employ of E. T. Peel, carrier, foil and cut his hand so badly on a broken lemonade bottle that he had to be removed to the hospital for treatment.
