TELEGRAM FROM TITE PRIME MINISTER. (By Tclccraqli.—Press Association.) Christchurch, September 7. Representatives of tho unemployed waited on tho Mayor at noon to-day, as arranged yesterday, and his Worship read to them the following telegram received by him last night from the Prime Minister :— "Sorry to hear that there are so many men out of employment in Christchurch at present. Am making inquiries with a view to seeing if work can be found for them, and hope to wire you early to-morrow." The position was talked over, and tho Mayor asked the representatives of the unemployed to see him again to-morrow at noon, when ho will probably have a further telegram from the Prime Minister. It is probable that work will be found for a few men at the public gardens.
