BATTALION OEDERS. Battalion orders by Lieutenant-Colonel W. G. Duthie, Olticor Commanding tho Fifth (Wellington) Regiment:, state thai tho battalion will parade under the adjutant at tho Garrison Hall at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13. Dress: Khaki, no arms or equipment Inferring to arms and equipment it is pointed out that all arms and equipment aro now being; taken over under the direction of the acting-quartermaster, and will not bo reissued until nfter tho battalion lias been brought up to full strength. Several of tho rifles and bayonets were in a very bad condition. In future, the men themselves "will be held responsible for tho cleanliness and serviceability of all Government property issued to them. Tho following officers havo passed for promotion: I'or captain—Lieutenant S. Bolkm: practical, 84; company training, 74. I'or lieutenant—Lieutenant C. K. Gasquoine: practical, Gl; duties, (11; drills and musketry, 70. Captain Henry l'Yederick IA-ivis, Y.E., is placed on the retired list with the permission to wear the prescribed uniform and with tho honorary rank of major. Colour-Sergeant Ak'o Frandi and Sergeant John il'JJonald Johnston aro to be captains (unattached list Senior Cadets). Major A.J. Cowles will take over command of letter C Company, vice Captain Davis (retired). Tho monthly mess meeting will bo hold in tho Tillin tea rooms on Monday, September 11, 11)11, at 8 p.m.
