AN ELEVEN-STORY BUILDING. USy Telcgrnnh.— Press Association.) Auckland, September 4. A nine-story building, including basementj is being creeled for Mr. Glee-son in High Street. It is being built of stool oncased in brick and concrete. The roof, which was to bo Hat, was according to plans approved by the City Council, io bo laid out as a garden. Mr. Gk-cson proposes now to dispense with (his scheme and has applied to the City Council for permission to substitute two additional stories, making tho building an elevensiory structure. If the application is granted tho building will rise to a height of 120 fret above the pavement, and will thus be the highest,' in New Zealand. H is expected, however, Iliat the application for a permit to erect a building eleven stories high will meet with some opposition in tho council.
