Tho New Zealand Ijoo.ii and Mercantile Agency Company, Eld. (Fcilding branch) report for tho week ended August 11 cs follows:—At Feilding, on Friday, last week, we had a good entry of both sheep and cattle. Sheep, especially hoggets, maintained lata rates. Cattle also sold well, young steers being in demand. Wo disposed of practically all' of our entry at the following prices:—Ewes in lamb, 125.; ewes in lamb to S.D. rams, 145.; cull owes, in lamb, ss. 3d.; cull ewes, 3s. 9d., ss, 1(1.; ewes, 'Bs. 6d.; mixed hoggets, 7s. 10d., 10s. Vd., IPs. 10d„ 10s.-lid., to lis. 10d.; B.V. hoggets, Bs. lid.; fat lambs, 10s. 5d.; 18months steers, £4 Is.; two-year steers. £4 65.; empty cows, £3 Is. 6d.: empty heifers. .£3 7s. and £3 95.; 18-mouths heifers, £Z 16s. At Mr. Koberstein's clearing sale of dairy cows, held at Feilding salcyards on Saturday last, there was a small attendance of buyers, but all were operators, the result being that we sold almost all the cows at a good figure. .Mr. Goodrich's cows also sold well. We quote as follows:— On account of Mr. Kohcrstein, dairy cows up to £10 10s.; on account of Mr. Go»1rick, up to £7. A nice line of young Jlolstein heifers, on account of Ik: Koberstcin, made £5 15b. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., held a sale of dairy stock at Pahautanui on Thursday. Amongst the entries were Mr. Stace's herd, which realised prices as follows:—£7 10s.. £3 10s.. £7 7s. 6d., £8 2s. 6d., £6, £6 10s., £6 155., £6 55., £6 12s. 6d., £10 15s. Mr. William Galloway's cows brought from £6 Is. to £8 15s. On account of various other vendors, cowo brought from £4 12s. 6d. to £9 7s. There was a fairly large attendance of buyers, and there was a good demand for cows coming to early profit, but for backward sorts, there was very little inquiry. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on a special hogget sale, held at Marlon yesterday, on account of Messrs. J. C. Meyer, jun., and L. M. Richards, mid others. Some 9GCO hoggets, were yarded. Early culvers realised £6 15s. to £16 Ids.; later, £4 to £6; empty. £3 2s. 6d. to £7; bull, £4 2s. 6d.; draught horse, £33; trap mare, £16; porkers, 275.; wagon, £16 155.; dray, £14 10s.; plough, £4 10s.; jack, £4 55.; mower, £5; rake, £4 10s. At my fortnightly salo at Urenui on August 7 there was a largo yarding, especially of dairy cattle, several comploto herds being.offered and realising tha following prices:—Mr A. Thouinsiii'.i herd, £5 10s. to £11 55.; Messrs. H. and D. S. Musltcr's herd, £6 to £11 Es. I also sold, on account of Mr. E. Julian, who has disposed - of his farm, his tine flock of sheep, which brought tho following prices. At Stony liiver on Wednesday there was a good yarding, and, though competition was keen, prices were slightly easier than at last sale.
