CORONATION DAY.
THE MILITARY' PARADES. .The official returns, of the muster of troops at various centres in the Wellington military district on Coronation Day show that the total parade slate was G835, including 1317 senior cadets, arid 310!> junior cadets. The details are as follow:—. . - Wellington, 2925; Carterton, 60; Dannevirke, 1C0; Eketahuna, .40; Eltham,'9o; Featherston, 21; Fcilding, 163; Gisborr.e, 239; Hastings, .275; Hawera,' 1'40; Inglewood, u'2; Marton. 69; Masterton, 206; Napier. 479; New Plymouth, 352; Paliuerston North. 31S; Tatea, 66; Ractihi,'47; Stratford, 78; Wairoa, 127; Waipara, 37; Wanganui, 770; Waverley, 72; Woodville, 16.
At most of these places tho day was very wet, which accounts for the small attendances.
