THE EXHIBITION.
DEMONSTRATION OF WIRELESS. THE EVENTS FOR TO-DAY. The number of visitors to tho Exhibition yesterday totalled 13G2, and the total to date is 01,518. Several games of golf and bowls were played during tho afternoon and evening. Tho use of tho Stadium has been granted to the Wellington Football Association, which is arranging a fancy dress football match and a sports programme. A number of the crew of H.M.S. Cambrian will take part in the sports meeting, which is to bo held at the Stadium to-night. Many humorous or semi-humor-ous events have been included in the programme, including a sack race, potato race, and three-legged race. A demonstration of home nursing will be given to-day by Nurso Seaton and Miss Kelly. Mr. J. W. 5L Harrison's pupils will give another performance of the grand march nnd pageant on Monday evening. The final matches of the tennis tournament will be played this afternoon, commencing at 2 o'clock. Brown will meet Cornell, and Fisher will play Jeffrey, nnd the '.vinncrs play off for the championship. It was mentioned at tho meeting of the Sports Committeo last evening that the tennis matches arc proving among tho most popular events at tho Stadium. A demonstration in wireless telegraphy was given last evening by Mr. W. H. Buswell. of the City Electrical Department. With the aid of a complete wireless outfit he explained tho various parts of the outfit, and how it was operated. Amongst various other electrical experiments was one demonstrating the wireless transmission of electrical energy, which, of course, is the basis on which sounds are propagated in the forrii of aerograms. Next Friday evening two wireless stations will be erected in different parts of tho building, and messages will bo transmitted to and fro. THE SPORTS COMMITTEE. 'Mr. A. Marryatt presided over a meeting of tho Sports. Committeo held in the Commissioner's room last evening. A letter was received from A. Campbell, champion mile runner of New Zealand, asking if it were possible to arrange a two-milo championship event between himself a.p* — Ornstein, the New Zealand >re-miler. It was resolved to ascertain Ornstein's views on the matter. A letter was received from L. R. Robinson, light-weight wrestler, asking if a match could be arranged between himself and Jos. Gardiner at tho Stadium. It was mentioned by Mr. Chnffey that theso two men were, perhaps, the best lightweight wrestlers in New Zealand, and he was certain that the contest would bo a success. A motion was accordingly passed, giving tht- sub-committee power to arrange a match for n purse. It was resolved to consider tho question of holding a comic singing and stepdancing competition. ENGLISH PIERROTS. The English Pierrots, by the brightness and originality'of their entertainment, continue to find favour with visitors to the Exhibition. The programmo submitted contains vocal and instrumental selections, and items of a humorous nature. An'excellent programmo of moving pictures was shown during the afternoon.'
