OLD IDENTITY'S SUDDEN DEATH.

* • MR. SAMUEL BALLANCE. A well-known Wellington identity, Mr. Samuel Ballanco, died suddenly yesterday afternoon. Deceased was a passenger by a Wallace Street traincar, and, when the car was nearing Lambton Station, he took a fit. Tile motormau and conductor at once removed him into the open air on the footpath, but lie expired almost immediately. Dr. Collins, who was passing at tho time, was called to attend tho ease, but could only pronounce life extinct. Tho body was removed to the morgne, where Dr. M'Arthur will hold an inquest at 9 o'clock this morning. Deceased was about G5 years of and was a brother of the late Hon. John Jialiance.
