THE NO-LICENSE CAMPAIGN.

DOMINION CONVENTION. The twenty-fifth annual convention of the New Zealand Alliance opens this evening, in St. John's Schoolroom, Dixon Street. The press will not be admitted to the deliberations, but there will be public meetings in the evenings at tho Town Hall. The president (Mr. Wesley Spragg) will officially welcome the delegates this morning, and tho annual report and balancesheet will be presented. 11l the afternoon Mr. A. S. Adams will speak on "Our Legislative Position," Mr. J. Harrison on "i'lte Simple Majority,' and the ltev. A. Donll on "Our Attitude towards Parliamentary candidates on the majority question." In tho evening a conversazione will be hold in the Concert Chamber, when addresses by the lion. G. Fowlds, Mr. A. S. Adams, Mrs. Barton, and tho ltev. I'. Bennett are announced. To-morrow will be occupied by tho delegates with the discussion of plans—organisation, canvassing, funds, women's work, advertising, etc.—for tho 1911 campaign. In the evening a convention tea for delegates will be held, to be followed by a Dominion demonstration in the Town Hall, when addresses will be given by Lieut.-Colonel Birkenshaw, Miss Anderson Hughes, the Rev. L. M. Isitt, and Mr. T. E. Taylor. Officers for tho year will be elected on Thursday morning, and during tile afternoon ten-minute addresses on "NoLicenso in Successful Operation" will bo delivered by prominent members of the Alliance. A "Woman's Crusade" will be held at the Town Hall in the evening. Seventy-two out of seventy-six electorates will be represented at tho conference, while there are 142 delegates on the list, at present. The convention will be the twelfth held in Wellington, and, it is declared, is to 1m in every sense a representative one.
