Liqut,-Colonel G. P. C. Campbell, V.D.'(Wellington), has been promoted to the rank of colonel, and will act as a. cr.ist defence commander for four years. Lieut-Colonels J. Allen (Dunedin), J. Cooper (Christ-church), and G. Patterson (Auckland) have been similarly promoted. At a meeting of tho officers of the Fifth Wellington Regiment, held Inst evening, it was dtcided to hold a militcrv tattoo and monster fireworks (lisplay at the Athletic Park on Coronation Night.
