| MEDALS AND PROMOTIONS. This week's Gazette contains the following announcements referring to awards of medals and promotions of officers — Colonel T. W. Porter, C.8., of the New Zealand Militia, has been awarded tho Colonial Auxiliary Forces officers' decoration. His local service is five davs short 01 3i years. The meritorious service medal lias been awarded' to Staff Scrgeants-Maicr J Coleman nnd N. A. Wilson, New Zealand Permanent Staff. Lieutenants 1?. 13. Sinvthe and S. G. Sandle, of the Hoy a! New Zealand Artillery, are promoted captains. Captains G. H. Stewart (Otago) and T. U. Stendmnn (North Auckland), and Major G. Barclay, V.D. HVaikato), aro promoted to lioiitenant-colouelcies in their respective districts.
