WELLINGTON OPERA HOUSE COMPANY. The twenty-third annual report rf tho directors of the Wellington Opera House Company states that tho directors recommend a 5 per cent, dividend, this, together with 7 per cent.- paid on September 30, making the dividend 12 per cent, for the year. A recommendation is'also made that the usual bonus'of £105 to tho directors bo declared, and that this dividend and bonus he made payable on and after April 10, 1911; also that £308 19a. 3d. be paid towards reducing the Cuba Street extension mortgage, which will then stand at £661 ss. Bd. A number of improvements and renovations required by the <-'ty Co--iiic.il have been effected. The alterations are to be paid for by the lessee and the- company jointly. Customs duties collected nt the port of .Wellington yesterday amounted to £3172 6s. 7d.
TRADE IN ALLEN STPIEET. Fruit—The s.s, Navua, from Fiji, arrived on Friday last with 7000 bunches and 30CO cases bananas for this market. On account of the creat number of bunches sent here prices'ruled low, but the case fruit, however, realised satisfactory rates. Tho Aorangi, via the Cook Islands, is due here on Monday next, and will hrinc further supplies Of bananas and Island oranges for this market. The. steamer from Sydney, due to-day. is bringing 600 packages for this market, consisting of prapes, passi6n fruit, and pineapples. Pears have advanced in value, and choice dessert are now quoted'at 9s. to 10s. per case. Choice dessert apples are in excellent demand, and prices raj)ge from 7s, to 95., according
to variety, barge green cooking apples are selling at 4s. to 4s. 6d. per case. Messina, lemons are in light supply, double cases containing about 3CO lemons aro bringing from 355. to 375. Cape goasoborries meet with keen competition at 4d. to 4Jd. Tomatoes have firmed, and aro now quoted at 2s. 6(1. to 3s. 6d. per half-case. Consignments of peaches arc recommended; choice, in lialf-cases, being now worth ss. to' 6s. Vegetables.—The market ' displays an easier tone. Cabbages aro now worth 3s. !o ss..per sack; cauliflowers, 6s. to Bs.; French beans, 2s. 6d. to 4s. 6d. per halfsack.. . Swedes arc quoted at 2s. 6d. per cwt. A keen demand is being experienced for kumeras, at ss. 6d. to 7s. Gd. for 3ft, cases. Oats.—The market continues firm; tho f.o.b. quotation for A grade bartons is now 2s. 4Jd. per bushel. Oatmeal.—ln sympathy with the advance in oats, this has advanced XI per ton. Rolled oats are firm, and an advance in price would not come as a- surprise. Flour is without any change, the nuotation remaining at £8 10s. f.o.b. south. Pollard.—The bulk of the supplies continues to come from Australia. New Zealand pollard is worth .£6 f.o.b. south. Bran, remains steady, at 80s. f.o.b. south. Maize.—The demand has improved considerably, and fairly heavy sales aro being made. Fungus—Prime dry is worth 4Jd. per lb. Hams and bacon meet with a, fair demand. ' Epes.—Supplies of fresh eggs are within smaller compass, and to-day's value is Is. 3d. to Is. 4d. per dozen. With the near approach of Easter prices should harden.' Cheese.—The market continues steady at late rates. Butter.—Prime bulk is in excellent demand at lOd. per lb. Potatoes—Prime samples are in excellent demand, but the bulk of the shipments coming forward are of inferior quality. Onions.—Prime table continue at, 80s., while picklcrs range from 6s. to 7s. per cwt..

LONDON RTOOL SALES. The New /lealand Loau and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cabl"eram from their London house under dale April 1: The London wool sales closed strong on Saturday. The market is steady, and quotations unchanged since our last cablegram. There were 195.GC0 bales of wool sold at the sales. 72,000 were taken for the Continent. 3CCO for America,, and 37,000 were held over.
