W.UIU SHARES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, April 3. Waihi Gold-mining shares are quoted at 625. 6d. (buyers), and 655. (sellers). GOLD AT RUSSELL. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, April 4. A report gained currency some twelve months ago that gold had been found at Russell, Bay of Islands. At the time nothing was done to ascertain the value of tho find, as the owner of the land would not. sell at, what was then regarded by v.-ould-be purchasers as a reasonable price, and would not permit any prospecting to he done. It is stated that. a. strone syndicate has now heen formed which will probably treat successfully with the proprietor of the land. Gold was found around Russell many years ago, but nothing like the fine specimens that have now been brought to light.
