REQUEST BY I'ETONE COUNCIL. The Mayor of Petone, Mr. J. W M'Ewan, with the borough solicitor, Mr R. C. Kirk, and Councillors &mthgatc and Short, waited upon tho Hon. D Buddo, Minister for Interna Aftaiis .yesterday morning, a" d asked that tin recommendation of Commissioner fehor 1 regarding the control of Gear Island b( now given, effect. .
